Illinois State EV Charger Incentive Programs

As of May 2025, Illinois does not offer any state-level EV charger incentives. However, the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit (also known as IRS 30C tax credit) is available to businesses who install qualified EV charging equipment in an eligible location. Businesses are eligible for a tax credit of:

6% of the depreciable costs, up to $100,000 per item OR
30% of the depreciable costs, up to $100,000 per item if the installation meets U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements

Illinois EV Charger Rebates

The following utilities offer rebates and other incentives to help you simplify--and save on--EV charger installation and fleet electrification.

Commonwealth Edison offers rebates of up to $3,750 for L2 chargers for customers enrolled in public assistance programs.

City of Naperville has a rebate of up to $500 for L2 or DC fast chargers.

City of Batavia also has a rebate of up to $500 for L2 or DC fast chargers.
