Washington State EV Charger Incentive Programs
As of May 2025, Washington does not offer any state-level EV charger incentives. However, the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit (also known as IRS 30C tax credit) is available to businesses who install qualified EV charging equipment in an eligible location. Businesses are eligible for a tax credit of:

6% of the depreciable costs, up to $100,000 per item OR

30% of the depreciable costs, up to $100,000 per item if the installation meets U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements

Washington EV Charger Rebates
The following utilities offer rebates and other incentives to help you simplify--and save on--EV charger installation and fleet electrification.
Tacoma Public Utilities offers a Community EV Charging Rebate for businesses and multifamily properties installing L2 chargers. Networked L2 chargers are eligible for a rebate of $5,000 per port, capped at $50,000 per project. Projects located within underserved or overburdened areas in Tacoma Power’s service territory qualify for enhanced incentives of $10,000 per port, up to $70,000 total. Non-networked L2 chargers are eligible for a rebate of $2,000 per port, capped at $15,000 per project. Tacoma Power also offers rebates for utility infrastructure upgrades of up to $10,000 for networked charging projects or up to $7,000 for non-networked projects, included in total project caps.

Clark Public Utilities offers commercial and industrial customers a $500 rebate for the purchase and installation of a qualified L2 charger. There is no limit on the number of rebates but projects with more than 10 units require pre-approval. Business customers with a DC fast charger deployed may qualify for an annual credit of $1,500 for each charger. Clark Public Utilities also offers grant funding to municipalities, local government agencies, and non-profits in Clark County support the build out of publicly accessible EV charging infrastructure in Clark County. The grant can cover up to 50% of project costs.

Avista has a Small Business Turn-Key Commercial Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Incentive Program that covers 75% of dedicated installation costs for non-networked L2 chargers, up to $5,000 per port. Avista also offers an incentive for make-ready infrastructure costs up to $5,000 per port.
