New Jersey State EV Charger Incentive Programs

On May 7, 2025, the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) announced a new expansion of the EV Tourism Corridor program, which provides funding for chargers at tourist locations around the state including boardwalks, parks, unique attractions, and overnight lodging establishments. The EV Tourism Corridor program provides incentives of up to $5,000 per L2 charger and up to $50,000 per CD fast charger to businesses, hotels, government entities, and non-profits located within 1 mile of an eligible corridor. Charginging sites in Overburdened Municipalities can qualify for a 50% bonus incentive. New Jersey also offers incentives for EV charging at multi-unit dwellings (MUDs). The program offers up to $4,000 for the purchase of dual-port networked L2 chargers or up to $6,000 for eligible MUDs located in a designated Overburdened Municipality.
In addition, the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit (also known as IRS 30C tax credit) is available to businesses who install qualified EV charging equipment in an eligible location. Businesses are eligible for a tax credit of:

6% of the depreciable costs, up to $100,000 per item OR
-
30% of the depreciable costs, up to $100,000 per item if the installation meets U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements

New Jersey EV Charger Rebates
The following utilities offer rebates and other incentives to help you simplify--and save on--EV charger installation and fleet electrification.
PSE&G offers an on-bill credit of up to $30,000 toward the cost of upgrading Customer-Side Make-Ready (CSMR) assets for the installation of commercial, ENERGY STAR® certified, L2 chargers. The utility also offers an on-bill credit of up to $100,000 per site toward the cost of upgrading CSMR for the installation of public DC fast chargers.

JCP&L has a rebate of up to $500 for L2 or DC fast chargers.

Atlantic City Electric offers rebates of up to 75% of electrical upgrade costs--a maximum of $5,000 per charging port--for a maximum of 10 charging ports per location for multifamily properties. Atlantic City Electric is also offering rebates of up to 50% of electrical upgrade costs--or a maximum of $4,500 per charging port--for a maximum of 10 charging ports per location for workplace facilities. For businesses operating commercial fleets, Atlantic City Electric offers rebates of up to 50% of electrical upgrade costs--or a maximum of $2,500 per charging port--for a maximum of 10 charging ports per location. For public EV chargers, Atlantic City Electric offers a rebate of up to 50% of electrical upgrade costs for L2 chargers (maximum of $4,500 per charging port) and up to 90% of electrical upgrade costs for DC fast chargers (maximum of $60,000 per charging port). Qualifying commercial customers who install public DC fast chargers and take energy supply through Atlantic City Electric may also be able to take part in a two year pilot program that implements a cents per kWh charge for both Capacity and Transmission costs. Orange & Rockland offers owners or managers of multifamily properties or businesses rebates of up to 90% of the "make ready" costs to install L2 or DC fast chargers for their tenants, customers, employees, or your own fleet of light-duty vehicles. To learn more, click here.
