Texas State EV Charger Incentive Programs
As of May 2025, Texas does not offer any state-level EV charger incentives. However, the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit (also known as IRS 30C tax credit) is available to businesses who install qualified EV charging equipment in an eligible location. Businesses are eligible for a tax credit of:
-
6% of the depreciable costs, up to $100,000 per item OR
-
30% of the depreciable costs, up to $100,000 per item if the installation meets U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements

The following utilities offer rebates and other incentives to help you simplify--and save on--EV charger installation and fleet electrification.
Austin Energy has a Plug-In Austin Commercial EV Charging Station Rebate program that offers businesses, non-profits, and multi-family properties rebates of up to $3,000 per L2 charger and up to $5,000 per DC fast charger. Eligible stations must be installed and operational before applying for the rebate.
